Last weekend we took off and headed up to Hickory, NC where are friend Jake is from (Ty was in Jake & Becca's wedding). We stayed with Jake's parents and then went snowboarding at Sugar Mt. Ty was super excited since we've been watching Shaun White in the Olympics and he was already talking about all the tricks he was going to do! Granted this was Ty's very first time on a slope and he really had no idea how difficult it was going to be. So to make a long story short.... after a huge meltdown after the first run because he kept falling, we forced him to try it again and he loved it! Now he didn't end up doing anything fancy but was quite happy that he was able to make it down the mountain with only falling a few times and mastering being able to stop! So it was a good day and hopefully we can get back next year and try again! (Donnie & I did fairly well too although stuff like that just reminds you how old you are when you can barely walk the next day!)
